I picked up another Murakami book because I longed to read another masterpiece like Norwegian Wood. I don’t know what magic that book possesses, but it took hold of me. Wanting to read such a book again, I stumbled upon Sputnik Sweetheart by Murakami himself at the bookstore. I bought myself a copy and dove right in. Unfortunately, unlike Norwegian Wood, the first two-thirds of the book was magnificent. The last one-third, however, was very disappointing.
