Clockwork

1. Like clockwork, the shadows fall
Every evening
And if you think that one day
They won’t, you’re wrong.
The sun will rise,
And even from behind the clouds
It’ll be light.

2. The closed doors of a home
Have never been enough
To keep guests out anyway,
And never been enough to keep
The dark parts inside.

3.Sometimes, art doesn’t have to be
A million layers deep with a
Thousand different meanings

4.You didn’t go back, though, did you?
Don’t dig too deep here, it’s just a broken form
Of art with six different stories
Written in a single book,
Yellow from cover to cover,
And a page torn because that story didn’t have a happy ending.

So like clockwork, the stories fall into place
And if you think that one day
This doesn’t make sense to you,
You’re probably right.
